Explore the magic of the northwest forest with its enchanting wild plants at Camp Terra®, a unique sensory integration nature immersion camp for kids.

Camp Terra® is located on 5 acres of private undeveloped native forest land in the Paradise Ridge area of beautiful Vashon Island, Washington. Camp Terra provides an opportunity for children to immerse themselves in nature and provides opportunities for a stimulating, hands-on approach to environmental education. *Nature Immersion is defined as “unstructured free time in nature resulting in an intimate, deep and personal connection to the natural world”.

The camp atmosphere is non-competitive, encouraging group bonding and individual empowerment. The Camp Terra program is designed by internationally recognized forest kindergarten expert Erin Kenny. Camp Terra has the same unstructured interest-led flow programming as the Cedarsong® Forest Kindergarten and uses The Cedarsong Way® teaching method.

We accept up to two high functioning autism spectrum, SPD and/or ADHD diagnosed children in each of our camps.

Activities may include:

Parent Feedback about Camp Terra

“You know what I think is one of the neatest things about the nature camp days?  That the kids, particularly George, just wants to stay outside once we get home.  You’d think they’d want to run in and do their inside stuff…. 🙂  But George is still outside…” – parent of two 2015-2016 Saturday camp kids

“Elly is still talking about her week at Camp Terra. On her first day of camp she was a little unsure of meeting new girls but was very comfortable with Erin. When we talked the first evening about her day she said she could not wait until tomorrow. When asked why, she replied, ‘I GET TO GO TO CAMP TERRA.” She was ready to do her first camp out after the second day of camp. She talked about her experience with nettles and using plantain. We often take walks with other little girls and Mom’s and Elly is always having them try fresh fir needles and salmon berries along the trail. She plans on coming back next year. I have been raving about this camp to all of the Mom’s I know. Thank you again for a memorable and educational experience.”

” I just wanted to send you a heartfelt thank you for your time spent with Kincaid this past week. He really had such an amazing time with you both and seemed to get so much out of the entire experience. His reflections about his week and his energy/spirit as he talked about it just made my heart ache in the best of ways. I love that my boy truly engages with all of these moments and that he is so at home in the woods…he told me today that he is not putting shoes on until school starts!! Thanks again for providing our kids with this opportunity and for loving them so well while they are in it. We will be looking forward to next year.”
